In My Ears: Week of 5/11/14 - Ramsey

This is the inaugural "In My Ears" Segment. This will be a weekly session split between the writers of WTM. All of us have different ears and maybe you can see what fills the space between them. I guess I shall begin.

Album of the Week:
This week I've been listening to NWTS by Drake. Call me a sucker all you want but Come Thru and From Time are still on my iPhone for a reason.

Song on Repeat: A song I've found of repeat this week has definitely got to be Flight of the Navigator by Childish Gambino. This track hits home because it's actually a eulogy. Catchy beat, but the words are Glover's ode of his fallen friend. I guess I can relate to him as of recently (Rest in Peace King Darius Fletcher, We Love You Brother).

Throwback Jawn: Alright, this is the one I've been excited to announce. This week's throwback is What's the 411? by Mary J. Blige. This is maybe one of the first projects I can recall listening to with my Dad as a child. I mean everyone had that sit down with their Dad when he finds his old vinyl and cassettes but I remember when this was still on the radio for two years straight back in '92. Real Love, Reminisce, You Remind Me, Love No Limit, all will forever be classics.

Indie Track: This weeks Indie track is a no brainer for me. Achievements by Arinze, Rav P, Queen Ella, and Black Thought. You can read my write up on it earlier this week right here. Nothing more needs to be said just listen.
