I am happy to say that we are the ones premiering this brand new video on What's the Movement.
Meet A.R. Rick, a spitter from the Mecca, HU (this is the spot I say "You Know" right?). He describes his new brand new video, Dead Man Running as a subtle lyrical scramble sort of symbolizes the fast thoughts that must be processed when one is on the edge or confronting extreme loss.
Lyrically it was a little all over the place but I can tell it was supposed to be especially considering it was close to his heart. I like the eerie new age R&B distorted and reverbed production too. The beat didn't overshadow what he was trying to say either. Artists are into these crazy samples and bass heavy beats nowadays and get so caught up in the sound they miss out on their lyrics. I think the best music is when rappers just rap and let it spill out without singing a hook. This is no exception. The beat fades out when a hook was supposed to be. Time and time again I think the best songs are when they tell the truth instead of trying to entertain. That's what I love about this song and video. If I had one qualm with this it'd be to mix the song one last time. Not even that it'd have to be re-recorded but the music and vocals clash in some points and. Maybe I'm a stickler for details but either way this song is deep and probably one I'll hold close to my heart forever. I mean honestly, everyone has lost someone right? They're new to WTM Radar but we'll keep you up to date with what's going on with them. Shouts to Nick for the plug by the way! I need y'all to feel this. Dead Man Running after the break.
