What happens when you add a Microphone, Guitar, and smooth vocals? The math is quite simple, you get Raury.

WTM Staffer Simone was the first to grace the group chat with Raury's name. We vaguely recognized him from his feature on Joey Bada$$' debut album.  Soon after he graced XXL's oh so important Freshmen cover. So after those important cosigns I had to listen to the Stone Mountain, GA product. Instantly wowed, I was impressed by how talented this young 19 year-old kid was. His skill set combines emceeing with acoustic guitar and singing. Triple threats don't come often, but I nearly missed one. He is an electric performer and steals the attention of an entire audience. I was privileged to get a good spot at AfroPunk this year to see him front and center. It was here that I could hear the substance and heart in the lyrics and tone of his music. He CARES about his craft. Songs like Devil's Whisper and Cigarette Song can attest to just that. To be so young, so talented, and wise beyond his years is impressive. Seeing Raury live was an experience and left listeners waiting for more, myself included.

Luckily for us, the wait is only for another 8 days as his debut album All We Need will be released October 16th. Yesterday he released a third song featuring Big K.R.I.T. titled Forbidden Knowledge. Raury did a great job but the fellow southern hip-hop king stole the show with pure lyricism (I hate that word). Forbidden Knowledge is the third single on the album behind Devil's Whisper and Friends which comes with a pre-order from iTunes. In the meantime listen Forbidden Knowledge and you can watch the visual for Devil's Whisper below.
