Listen: Devastated - @joeybadass

I've had a real love hate with Joey Bada$$'s newest offering, Devastated.

The core hip-hop fan in me was devastated himself. I think every Joey Baddy fan is just a listener who loves flat out bars. Our greatest fear as a listener is to see that underground rapper go commercial. When he and Pro Era made the national scene they didn't and it was a breath of fresh air. Awhile back, I remember a twitter rant about him gearing his sound to broader audiences. Maybe not for the money but for a bigger reach. Devastated very well could be the beginning of it. I think hip-hop is transcending from a one sound, regional thing. Hip-hop is becoming about rappers turning into artists, Devastated is a track that is completely vocals from Joey. No bars, straight singing and honestly it's be executed wonderfully. If Drake, Chance and anyone else could do it, Joey might do it better. Well, we only have song to judge by. Make the decision yourself after the break.
