Chance The Rapper takes it on a trip up Michigan Avenue for this Chicago-Detroit Connection. and links up with Big Sean, Jeremih, Smino on their new track, Living Single.
Hearing a song that isn't ready to be released gives me mixed feelings. On one hand I am excited to hear new music from artists that I love but on the other hand it leaves a lingering question in my mind. What could have been? Did they mean to keep that hook like that? Did they notice that part was off key? Instead of being able to truly enjoy a song it turns into a session of analysis and critique. Conceptually I think the track was an overall great idea. It carries the 'Living Single' theme throughout the track to the contrast between each artist's voice. The hook even uses the melody from the classic 90's television show of the same name. The gents break down relationships past. Big Sean's ability to consistently deliver on everything he puts out still amazes me, even if I think the song could have been packaged better. Listen for yourself after the break.
