Maxx Kenif might be the first one I've ever heard say, "You Know the Vibes."
That's a good way to describe his latest album, North Country Boy. In my upcoming A-Side B-Side interview we talk about how his projects sound much different live than in the studio. If the world ever gets itself back together, I'd love to see him perform this one. Musically North Country Boy is kind of the midpoint between Kid Cudi or Curren$y but is super high energy life where recorded it's mellow. Lyrically, it's a story the same way his last project was. This one is the prequel (more on that later) to his last series. If I wasn't already there I'd listen and feel like I was in college with Maxx. Do yourself a favor: Light one or pour yourself a drink at the end of a long day, then press play on North Country Boy below. Look out for our interview on A-Side B-Side Podcast coming soon.
