Last week or so, I was in the midst of writing papers and studying for finals. Add a layer of pollen on EVERYTHING outside in my part of Jersey and you have the makings of a massive headache. My homegirl Hannah posted the link to the new video for Unstoppable by Lianne La Havas. I peeped the song awhile back, but watching the video was the first time I sat down and absorbed the song.
The song is grandiose in its production and complement's Ms. La Havas' buttery and tranquil voice. The song was so calming in its flow that it assuaged my once pounding headache. The video may seem simple upon first glance. She's dancing in random rooms. But if you have an eye for detail, you can appreciate the intricacies in the visuals. Namely, the rooms all have very elaborate yet subtle specifics in the architecture. There's also varying degrees of natural light in each room. These classy and understated settings are juxtaposed with splashes of color in Lianne's outfits (red lipstick, a gold pattern on one outfit, and a navy blue hue in another one). All of these elements create the perfect atmosphere for an alluring song. In the future, you can expect to see more of Lianne's face on WTM. Check out the video for Unstoppable below. Lianne La Havas' sophomore album Blood comes out on July 31st.
