Say What's Real, 9 AM in Dallas, Paris Morton Music 2. What do all of these Drake songs have in common?
I didn't have time to really dive into the smash hit mixtape, What A Time to be Alive offered from Future and Drake. I wanted to do a short review of it and changed my mind. It's a good collaboration that broke the internet when it released. It's safe to say it's cool for those of you who like that kind of music. Not that I didn't like it but 30 for 30 Freestyle really stood out to me. Like the before mentioned songs, this track doesn't have a hook. In my opinion that's when Drizzy makes his best music. Unfortunately this is the only song that doesn't feature Future but it's the only one produced by 40. I love it especially because it samples and references back to Closer to My Dreams from his earlier mixtape, Comeback Season. You can really hear the growth as an artist as a man when he spends his time rapping and spilling his silent thoughts over a track with no chorus. As time passes so does Drake and this is Aubrey Graham as we know him now. Listen to 30 for 30 Freestyle below with the player or video.
