Every year seems to get harder and harder to pick the best. Even with a team of some great music minds picking this list is difficult. As always we rate them on the same criteria every year: lyrics, production, flow, popularity, sales and uniqueness. I know, I know every time a publication or group makes a list it's a flop. This is the fifth year we put this out and we always try to differentiate the best from our favorites. In addition this is the best commercial Hip-Hip Albums (LPs) of the year. If you're wondering why your favorite isn't on the list it might be a mixtape, not hip-hop, or frankly didn't make the cut. Narrowing down music from January to December is difficult. Anyways I hope you enjoy the list when it comes out Friday. Throughout the week the staff picks their top albums of the year and on Friday the official list drops. As always I hope this stirs conversation, not in a bad way. Enjoy family. Through the week I'll be revisiting our previous AOTY winners. If you can't wait read the original reviews below.
