CoverTheseLyrics (@covertheselyric) - January Contest

Attention Artists, Poets, Musicians!

CoverTheseLyrics is holding an online singing contest for not only the singer in you, but the writer too. The contest is open to anyone, male or female, 14 years or older (with parental consent) and it is completely free. The winner of CoverTheseLyrics wins a grand prize of $500. They also help judge the next Ingenuity Award Round.

To participate the contestant must choose and perform in a video recording one lyric only from the select six on CoverTheseLyrics.com. Contestants have the option of performing the poem with original music created by the Contestant or they may perform the poem a cappella. Upon completion, contestants must upload their performance video to YouTube. There will be two separate prizes awarded to two separate winners.




The Ingenuity Award winner will be chosen based on creativity, confidence, and talent. The winner of the Ingenuity Award will receive $250, judge the next round, and feature their own original lyrics in the next round of the contest. The Grand Prize winner will be the contestant whose performance video has the most votes by January 31st 2016, 11:59 pm. Video submissions will be on YouTube however, voting will be done on the CoverTheseLyrics website on the page titled “Vote Now!” Only five votes per person per day. The Grand Prize winner will receive $500, the option to help judge in CTL’s next Contest round, and will made available for contest performance of three original pieces or poems authored by the Grand Prize winner in the next round of the CTL competition.
