Last night I spent a little time in Elizabeth at Spec Kay's XXV album listener.
One of the most memorable songs was Tigerback. He explained the difference between his last project XXIII. The Roselle rapper-producer is twenty-six now. He just wanted to show he can rap but (because of life experience) now he has the subject matter to back it up. A young filmmaker descibes life as a college grad ducking Sallie Mae and paying bills instead of copping that Ralph Lauren Jacket with the cool tiger on the back. Listen to Tigerback (and the rest of XXV) after the break.

Spec' Kay returns from hiatus with his new jam Burn.
Been a bit since we heard anything from the Roselle, NJ producer-emcee. Burn is the first track since My Best dropped last May. If you're like me you're still waiting for the follow up to XXIII from a few years back. I've always thought he was really good at creating concepts projects considering he's a filmmaker as well. His debut project was flames. The world is waiting, I guess we just have to Burn below after the break.

It's been a long time since we've heard from Roselle Producer/Emcee Spec' Kay.
In fact it'll be two years in September since his last piece of work XXIII. I'm interested in seeing his growth as an artist. My Best is what seems to be the first single for his next project. No word on a release date quite yet. The track takes a small turn towards the end as the percussion changes the melody a little bit. Kinda reminds me of something Timbaland would do and it's clever. Stay tuned for what he has up next. You can stream My Best below.
