I said before Elijah Blake is up next for R&B mainstream success. Just in time for summer.
In the past few weeks Blake has gotten busy with a few new singles on his debut album Shadows and Diamonds. If he already hasn't proved himself in features with Common, he did in his EP Drift. Next up is a new video for I Just Wanna. Unlike the single version the video features Detroit artist Dej Loaf. At first I wasn't sure how that would transition into the music. Elijah Blake has already gotten cosigns from big artists, but this might be the best feature verse on any project of his thusfar. Both up and coming artists benefit from a track as big as this. You can watch the video below.
If you pre-order the album you also get two other singles we haven't heard before, Everyday and Fading. You can stream the two below via Spotify. I think Shadows and Diamonds will be able to hang with the rest of the R&B albums that will drop this year. Maybe we'll see as time progresses. The album is available for pre-order now and you can expect it in stores June 23rd. Stay tuned.
