Watch: Live! From Brooklyn - Jay Lonzo (@EmceeLonzo); A Niles P. Joint

Jay Lonzo is apparently only 15, Yet he spits like somebody about twice his age!

He hails from Crown Heights and is the latest in a long line of young Brooklyn rappers carrying the torch for the next generation. However, you’d be foolish to dismiss him based on his age and place in line.  This young ass man makes his debut with the video for the aptly titled Live! From Brooklyn.

Visually he keeps it simple for his debut, hanging out in the borough of Kings (including a short roasting session in the middle), but he shows lyrical depth. Despite being too young to take driver’s ed, Lonzo will probably be tried as an adult for assassinating a Statik Selektah beat in cold blood (I’d love to know where the sample came from). He states his case to be placed in AP Hip Hop classes as he shows dexterity in subject matter, ranging from self improvement to turmoil in the black community to negative subject matter in rap lyrics. To paraphrase the legendary Brooklyn rapper AZ, you can tell somebody raised him with sense. I can’t wait to see this kid’s career take off, you know we’ll be covering all future releases. Until then, peep the video after the break.
