I tend to be Uncle Scrooge when it comes to holiday music. What can I say I work retail and it gets to you. However I didn't feel that way when I first listened to Holiday Love by Brittany Boardwick and Zal Walton Jr.

The holidays may be over but their seven track EP is still in rotation. What I love most about it is the originality as well as the twists on holiday classics. My favorite of the songs is definitely, All I Need. The duo trade croons and scats on a jazzy upbeat piano ballad. Zal Walton Jr. needs to be on your radar like he has been ours and I was blessed to meet Brittany Boardwick yesterday. Point blank you need to pay more attention. Hopefully we'll get the opportunity to do more press on these guys. In the meantime listen to All I Need after the break and cop Holiday Love on iTunes.

I rant and rave about the subgenres and crossover cultures of hip-hop and R&B. Delaware vocalist, Chuck Teag is another one you need to keep an ear out for.

Anonymity is the new selling point for artists. All I Need is the only track you can find of him on the web and this is the one. This smooth ballad is laced with great percussion and beautiful lyrics crying out to a lover. I'm curious to hear more. If that was the intent, mission accomplished. If you’re not already familiar with Noname Gypsy’s music, you can find her featured on tracks with the likes of Mick Jenkins, and Chance The Rapper. She is slowly building a buzz on the hip-hop scene. She had a bunch of tracks on her SoundCloud that have since been deleted, and can now be found on random YouTube and Soundcloud pages.

Noname Gypsy recently released her first single All I Need off her upcoming & oft-delayed project Telefone.  Since becoming a fan of Noname Gypsy it's good to know that the she's making progress towards a complete body of work. Like the song title suggests “Love is all I need.” The tranquil love song is filled with smart lines that jog your memory of past or present love. Accompanied by SPZRKT’s mellifluous voice, this song sums up the feeling of when you get used to talking to your boo every night on the phone.  “You remind me to love myself for the principle for the kid inside, til the end of time.” Noname's love interest keeps her childlike wonder about the world alive while reminding her of the things that she loves about herself.
