"When was the last time you heard a funky beat like this!? The first thing that came to mind when this came on was early Snoop because of its use of funk and the way he put his own spin on it. Old school west coast beats are so dope because they provide a great vehicle for rappers. I felt like I was in Compton with the bangers. I got my hat low with my drink in a paper bag while my homies do their walk to the track. I hear is singing along too "Bitch where you when I was walking" Singing and acting a fool. The lyrics and flow are aggressive, this whole time Kendrick is in your face and in ya ear letting you know what's up. This is a dope song for you and the crew to enjoy. This was made for car trips with the crew. When this track comes the squad goes "Oh shit! turn this up!" sorta like when his homies heard that Jeezy "last time I checked I was the man in these streets" Dope track I love it." Issah Umar
"After releasing his socially conscious second single The Blacker The Berry Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar has seen a new song off of his latest album "To Pimp a Butterfly" get released online. King Kunta is truly some classic West Coast shit. The beat is a mixture of G-Funk (which itself was greatly inspired by Parliament) that became a regional staple in the 90's with "2001" -esque elements. Throw in some Roger Troutman vocal effects and you have a track that'll be a cookout jam for the coming summer. I've always been a fan of rappers that paid homage to their regional mores, which is what K. Dot did with this track. I can't wait to see how it fits into his forthcoming album." Niles Cavanaugh
