It’s always interesting to witness the birth and evolution of a rap career. Lyric Jones has lowkey had a solid start to hers.
The Boston native has already released an independent LP and EP to her name on iTunes and has carved out a unique place in the game with her personal brand of what I call grown folks hip-hop. It has a more mature feel but still sounds crisp and fun. Recently she collaborated with producer DirtyDiggs for So Glad which appears on the producers’ compilation album Rodman. Jones lays superb bars (as usual) over a a sleek and sample-laden beat that features some of the best strings you'll hear all summer. Check the video below and go download Rodman here. Also check out Lyric Jones as she embarks on her first tour with Cali Agents.
